Classes for the "Actor" in Everyone
Frog Management screen classes are designed to build a rapport and your confidence in front of the camera.
Over eight weeks you will acquire the basic skills needed to work on camera, learn the techniques of ‘naturalism’ and prepare you for that all important audition.
Course content has been specifically devised for those seeking to break into film or television but have no previous ‘on camera’ experience, and you’ll learn from experienced and respected professionals.
In Practical "Hands-on" Weekly Classes You’ll Learn:
- TECHNICAL TERMS
- What exactly is a mid-shot? How close is a close up? What is a digi-cam? What roles do all those people on a film set play? Learn on-set etiquette and the breakdown of shot sizes. And how you can use the camera to your best advantage.
- SCRIPT TECHNIQUE
- You will learn how to analyse film and television commercial scripts, and then get to shoot the scenes and review them.
- NATURALISM
- Most television is naturalistic, but how do you achieve it? With the knowledge you’ve gained we then re-shoot the previous scenes and compare the differences.
- ACTING EXERCISES
- Learn the concepts of emotional recall, which will help you in understanding and breaking down your scenes.
- MAKEUP AND WARDROBE
- How should you dress for each audition you attend? A professional makeup and wardrobe artist will show you the techniques of screen make up and what is the appropriate dress for different auditions.
- SCREENING WEEK
- Your first appearance on film before the public! Get to invite family and friends along to enjoy drinks and nibbles while everyone gets to watch your acting prowess in the scenes we have worked on.

You now have an understanding of the basics of film and television acting, and have learnt how to use the camera to your best advantage.
Adult classes for ages 16 and over are offered at King St Arts Centre, King St Perth, on either a Wednesday or Thursday evening, running from 6.30-8.30pm. The cost is $250.00. To enrol please call Frog Management on (08) 93286555. For your convenience Eftpos facilities are available.
